За мен ли са сапунените орехчета?

Are soap nuts for me?

Maybe you've heard of soap nuts and are wondering if they're right for you?

The only way to be completely sure is to experience their qualities for yourself. However, if you are among the conscious and informed consumers who like to be prepared before filling their basket, we will be happy to read this article, in which we have tried to describe the benefits of walnuts and the ways in which they can be maximally useful to your household.

Before you get into the nitty-gritty, we want to be honest - eco-friendly laundry is not much different from healthy home-cooked meals - it requires thought, time, more energy than the "quick" products on the market, and is crowned with satisfaction and pride that we have made a healthier choice.

Our Yellow & Blue soap nuts ripen in the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India. They grow on Sapindus mukorossi trees, which are found everywhere in the local forests. Locals have used the husks of these nuts for hundreds of years to wash their clothes and bodies. Indian women collect this little miracle of nature and process it for us. When soaked in water, a natural soap called saponin is extracted from the nuts. This substance is suitable for washing all types of normally soiled fabrics (with sweat, dust), including underwear and the finest fabrics (wool, silk). Soap nut husks are suitable for gentle washing in the washing machine and by hand. They do not cause color fading and are suitable for people with sensitive skin (children, people with eczema).

Washing with soap nuts is cheaper than washing with regular powders. The nuts can be used in the washing machine multiple times, depending on the washing temperature – the higher the temperature, the faster they release their saponin.

Laundry with soap nuts is completely natural. At the moment, we do not know a more effective and ecological source of plant-based detergent. The trees that bear these nuts grow wild in India. There are no plantations for their cultivation. Our nuts are collected by Indian women, for whom this work is a source of income and independence.

Washing method: Place the appropriate number of soap nuts in the provided bag (see table on the packaging), tie it and place it with the laundry in the drum of the washing machine. It is not necessary to use fabric softener, the soap nuts have a softening effect on the fabrics. It is good to wash at least at 40°C.

After washing, let the walnuts dry and use in the next wash. The walnuts can be used 2-3 times at temperatures up to 60 ˚C. If they no longer foam when soaked in hot water (they do not release saponin), we separate them for composting.

For white laundry: Soap nuts do not contain bleaching and brightening ingredients that are added to standard laundry detergents. Therefore, when washing white laundry, it is a good idea to add the product Yellow & Blue PUER to the laundry, which serves as a bleaching and stain remover.

Heavily soiled laundry: The evening before washing, soak heavily soiled laundry in the warmest possible water (depending on the type of laundry) and add 1-2 spoons of Yellow & Blue PUER powder. In the morning, wash as described above.

For stains: Before washing, treat the stained areas with Yellow & Blue Stain Soap .

To scent laundry: Soap nuts have a neutral scent, so laundry can be scented with natural essential oils. In this case, before putting it in the washing machine, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the bag of soap nuts.
